Typically an RCFL has one director, an assistant director, and anywhere from 10-12 computer forensic examiners, some of whom may be trainees. The RCFL may also have technical and administrative detailers on staff.
Even though the RCFL staff remain as employees of their home agencies, they are expected to comply with the standard operating and quality assurance procedures/protocols of the RCFL in which they serve.
Serving as NJRCFL's Director is Ronald Menold, FBI. The Assistant Director is Ben Demonte, Chief Forensic Examiner, FBI. The Operations Manager is Lieutenant Michael S. Ries, NJ Division of Criminal Justice and serving as Assistant Operations Manager is Detective Rich Gould, Essex County. There are 21 full time forensic examiners and 3 part time examiners from the FBI, NJSP, NJ Division of Criminal Justice, The New Jersey Attorney General's Office, Essex County Prosecutor's Office, Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, Somerset County Prosecutor's Office, and Jersey City Police Department. The forensic examiner staff is supported by federal and state personnel who provide administrative support and evidence management.
